Candles may discolor or fade when they are exposed to intense light for extended periods of time, or if stored in warm or humid areas. Wax will soften in temperatures over 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Store your candles in a cool, dry place if they will be used right away.

We use multiple kinds of wax depending on the item and it will be listed on each individual product page. However, most products are comprised of coconut blends.

We use multiple kinds of wicks depending on the item, including cotton, zinc and wood. All wick types have various purposes and benefits that contribute to the performance of the candle. We NEVER use lead wicks, as they are unsafe and are banned in the U.S.

YES! Never light a candle until you have trimmed the wick to 1/4". Untrimmed wicks can cause the flame to burn higher, creating excessive heat inside the jar, which can in turn cause a fire. Wicks of all candles can "mushroom" at the top and typically leads to excessive flickering, smoke, and/or soot. So yes! Trim. Those. Wicks!

A little "hang-up" is normal especially towards the top and middle of the candle but the wax will typically catch up as long as you allow it to burn for the recommended time (no more than 4 hours for candles over 4 ounces and no more than 2-3 for candles 4 ounces or less). If too much wax is left on the sides of the jar, tunneling will occur and render your candle useless unless it's melted back down.

Our candles are all thoroughly tested for maximum fragrance and performance so tunneling should not occur when burned properly.

This can happen for a couple of reasons. Not having the wick trimmed properly to 1/4" can definitely cause soot. Additionally, drafts can cause puffs of smoke as well so do your best to burn your candle in a place free of ceiling fans and open windows. If you see the flame dancing around more than usual, or behaving in a way that's not typical, extinguish the flame, allow it to cool, trim the wick, and relight.

A carbon buildup, otherwise known as a "mushroom" can happen with any combination of wick and wax and is completely normal. It's cause is a natural process that occurs when the oil travels up the wick to the flame. Never, ever light a candle without trimming the wick and removing the mushroom; failing to do so may result in debris in the wax pool, which is a fire hazard.

Avoid blowing out a candle flame! Not only does it cause excessive smoke, but it's not uncommon for melted wax to be blown outside of the jar and splattering onto your skin or furniture. Our Candle Care Kits include a "snuffer" which is used to safely extinguish the flame and prevent excessive smoke.

No, not at all; in fact, It has been illegal for some time.

If your purchase includes a candle or melts, we use our discretion as to when we ship. Extreme temperatures are one thing, but sitting in a delivery truck over a weekend is a recipe for a melted candle. If the order comes late in the week, and it's forecasted to be too hot, we will hold the shipment until the next business day. We cannot control, however, what happens once it leaves our hands.

DUE TO THE RISK INVOVLED WHEN ORDERING CANDLES DURING HOT MONTHS, WE CANNOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR MELTED WAX PRODUCTS. MELTED WAX IS NOT COVERED BY COURIERS!!!​

We offer the following tips to avoid problems:

• Because deliveries to your home will be left on front porch (a bad thing during hot days), we suggest having them delivered to a place you know someone will be present. Other than your home if someone is there, possibly a friend or family member's house, or even your place of employment if allowed.

• If you are expecting a shipment to your home, try to plan to have someone there or at the very least, attempt to get the package inside to cool place as soon as possible so it’s not sitting in the heat too long.

• Also, as a courtesy we aim to ship early in the week whenever possible to help avoid packages being left in warehouses and trucks over the weekend.

Unfortunately, unless there is a candle defect, we generally do not offer exchanges based on personal fragrance preferences. Everyone has a different sense of smell and preference so we hope you can understand that policy. However, remember that candles make great gifts and just because you are not fond of a scent, most likely a friend, co-worker, or family member would be.

Because glass weakens as it is exposed to heat, we do not recommend refilling the majority of our jars for re-use as a candle. However, they make terrific holders for all kinds of things around your home: buttons, nails, cotton balls, potpourri, seashells... or anything you may want to display. Additionally, most local recycling agencies will accept empty candle jars with other glass jars.

This is purely a safety issue and any candle maker or retailer will recommend this. Candles burn hotter at about the half way point. By the time its nearing the bottom of the jar, the heat is extreme enough to potentially cause cracking, breaking or damage underneath the glass. So not only do we recommend discarding the rest of the wax as it gets to 1/2" from the bottom, but we also recommend burning all candles on heat resistant surfaces.

Unfortunately, what happens to packages after they leave our facility is out of our control. We are not able to offer refunds, discounts, or replacements due to lost or stolen packages.

We are located in Southwest Florida and it's hot *almost* every single day of the year. Summer months are particularly warm and steamy. Regardless, our candles typically hold up well in the heat. We have tested this by leaving candles in a very hot car, and in a metal mail box, and in both cases the wax had not melted.

This does not, in any way, mean we can guarantee your candle will not melt in the mail. In the event that should occur, we are not able to offer refunds, discounts or replacements. We do make our very best effort not to ship over a weekend so that the packages aren't left sitting in a hot facility for a long period of time, but cannot control what occurs after the package leaves our facilities.
